Overview
The role of ground testing
has become ever more
sophisticated as the complexity of the avionic systems has gone through
dramatic upgrades over the years.
CES’s modular set of ground
testing equipment provides comprehensive and flexible resources to
thoroughly
and efficiently test, at the board or system level, all phases of
development,
production, operational readiness, and ongoing maintenance. If an
error is
detected, it is important to readily isolate the fault, repair,
reconfigure or
replace, then quickly reload and retest the faulty component and once
again
ensure operational readiness. Besides the rigorous procedural-based
manual
testing, we provide the facility for automatic scripted testing, thus
conveniently enabling exact repeatable tests.
ATT & PTT Automated Test Tool & Production Test Tool |
The CES Automated Test Tool (ATT) is a PC-based (Windows) scripting utility, allowing to run test scripts in a coordinated manner on avionic equipment. Target responses are analyzed for success or failure of the test. Log files of all target responses are registered automatically. For production testing, an optimized GUI, called the CES Production Test Tool (PTT), is also available. PTT provides a synoptic view of the test state of all system components under test, while the test is actually running. Originally developed for a specific project, ATT and PTT are now widely used in CES internal testing. |

CLM Automated Graphic System Configuration, Load and Monitor Tool |
The CES Configuration, Load and Monitor Tool (CLM) is a GUI-based tool, which aims at simplifying configuration handling for complex systems. Through Ethernet, it allows updating of any loadable entity on CES boards. Features include parallel loading, an embedded scripting engine, CRC verification on loaded images and automated configuration reporting. |

RLB & RTB Reload Box & Reload and Test Box |
With the CES Reload Box (RLB) and Reload and Test Box (RTB), CES offers a family of reconfiguration and test tools, which allow to restore the factory settings of all programmable elements of a CES product (typically a processor board or PMC). The RTB allows, in addition, to perform functional tests on the reconfigured product. Since many problems encountered in the field are due to misconfigured boards, the RLB and RTB boxes help to reduce the number of repairs that must be returned to CES, therefore improving the logistics and the system up-time for the customer. |

Aircraft Ground Test Systems |
CES provides major building blocks for several well-established aircraft ground test systems. Using a combination of VME processor boards, FPGA processor PMCs and inter-chassis connections, a wide range of avionics interfaces (MIL-STD-1553, EFA 3910, ARINC 429, etc.) can be supported with a limited number of hardware elements. A new generation of system elements based on PCIe is now available. |
